Blake J. Hood joined Boyd & Jenerette as an associate in August of 2002. He has devoted his statewide practice to the defense of employers and insurance carriers in claims and appeals arising under the Florida Workers' Compensation Act as well as claims brought under the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. Additionally, he has lectured on various topics concerning state and federal workers' compensation claims.

Mr. Hood has participated in the Advanced Workers’ Compensation Seminar through Lorman Education Services and covered various topics including the jurisdictional issues arising from the interaction of Florida’s Workers’ Compensation Act, the Jones Act, and the Long shore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. He was published in 2007: Florida Common Law Jurisprudence, Florida Bar Journal, Vol. 81, No. 1 (co-authored with Michael Cavendish).
