Christopher Matthew McShane was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he obtained his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Pittsburgh. While attending the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. McShane was a varsity letterman in tennis and was named as a varsity scholar athlete. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. McShane worked in marketing and sales in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area for Coca-Cola. Mr. McShane is a 1999 honors graduate from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida and was admitted to practice that same year. Mr. McShane was an associate editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Review. Mr. McShane first joined Boyd & Jenerette as an associate in 1999. Mr. McShane relocated to South Florida in 2000 and gained valuable experience representing a wide range of employers, insurance companies, third party administrators, self-insured entities, and corporations in a multitude of different matters. Mr. McShane concentrates his practice in the areas of Workers’ Compensation, Employment Law, Admiralty and Maritime Law, Longshore and Defense Base Act, Jones Act, vessel claims, salvage matters, Limitation of Liability Claims, premises liability, general liability, insurance coverage disputes and other complex insurance related matters. Since 2004, Mr. McShane has been an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida teaching a variety of legal courses. He is a very active member of his community in Fort Lauderdale and regularly attends and conducts continuing education courses and seminars.
