Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Ms. Morgan attended public schools in Jacksonville, Florida. Following an undergraduate degree from Florida State University, and her law degree from the University of Florida College of Law, Ms. Morgan returned to Jacksonville, where she has practiced law in the community since 1978. Having handled cases on behalf of plaintiffs in all areas of civil litigation and family law, Ms. Morgan has concentrated for the past 15 years on the defense of employers and insurance carriers in claims arising out of the Longshore & Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and the workers' compensation laws of the state of Florida. Her practice also includes employment law, Jones Act and personal injury.
Ms. Morgan is a past Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Florida Workers' Compensation Joint Underwriting Association. She currently serves on the Pro Bono Committee for the 4th Judicial Circuit and The Florida Bar Grievance Committee.
Ms. Morgan joined Cole, Stone, Stoudemire & Morgan, P.A. in 1991 and came to Boyd & Jenerette in 2009 as part of the merger. She practices throughout northeast Florida handling state actions and workers' compensation claims, and throughout the southeast handling longshore and harbor workers' claims. Ms. Morgan is a member of all local, state and federal courts in Florida, and is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, it's highest rating.
