Boyd & Jenerette Associate Wins Volunteer of the Year Award

Congratulations to our very own Bille Jo Taylor, who won the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Volunteer of the Year award for her tireless service to the Bar and the community!

The Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section ("JBA/YLS") is composed of area young lawyers who are 35 years old or younger or who have been practicing less than five years. The JBA/YLS has a large and enthusiastic membership and a very active and committed Board of Governors. JBA/YLS is dedicated to providing a diverse array of programs and projects designed to benefit young lawyers, all members of the bar, and our community.

Boyd & Jenerette was a proud sponsor of this years Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association Judicial Reception on June 12,2012.

The Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association (JWLA) was founded in 1982 to provide support and networking for women lawyers in Jacksonville, Florida. JWLA membership is open to all attorneys, male or female, in Jacksonville, Florida and surrounding counties.

JWLA reaches out to the community by supporting Hubbard House, the local women's shelter. In addition, JWLA has established a mentoring program in conjunction with the Florida Coastal School of Law and promotes legal scholarship. JWLA also hosts the Annual Judicial Reception, an event at which the judges of local state, federal and administrative benches are recognized for their contribution to the legal community.

Boyd & Jenerette Welcomes New Associate

Mr. Salem has joined Boyd & Jenerette in our Jacksonville and will be working in general civil litigation defense, involving automobile and trucking negligence, product liability, and premise liability.

Prior to joining Boyd & Jenerette, Mr. Salem was an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit where he handled over 25 jury trials.  While at the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Salem handled a variety of criminal cases, ranging from misdemeanors to felonies punishable up to life in prison.  He also was awarded at the State Attorney’s Office for his outstanding performance and dedicated service.

While in law school Mr. Salem interned for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Judge Daniel Sleet and had the opportunity to work for the City of Jacksonville’s General Counsel’s Office during his undergraduate studies.
