Congratulations to our very own Bille Jo Taylor, who won the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Volunteer of the Year award for her tireless service to the Bar and the community!
The Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section ("JBA/YLS") is composed of area young lawyers who are 35 years old or younger or who have been practicing less than five years. The JBA/YLS has a large and enthusiastic membership and a very active and committed Board of Governors. JBA/YLS is dedicated to providing a diverse array of programs and projects designed to benefit young lawyers, all members of the bar, and our community.
The Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association (JWLA) was founded in 1982 to provide support and networking for women lawyers in Jacksonville, Florida. JWLA membership is open to all attorneys, male or female, in Jacksonville, Florida and surrounding counties.
JWLA reaches out to the community by supporting Hubbard House, the local women's shelter. In addition, JWLA has established a mentoring program in conjunction with the Florida Coastal School of Law and promotes legal scholarship. JWLA also hosts the Annual Judicial Reception, an event at which the judges of local state, federal and administrative benches are recognized for their contribution to the legal community.
