Alan Fertel to Speak at 4th Annual ABA International Legal Symposium
Boyd & Jenerette Partner Alan Fertel will be speaking at the American Bar Association 4th Annual International Legal Symposium on the World of Music, Film, Television and Sports on Friday May 3rd in Miami Beach at 2:30 p.m.
Fertel will be presenting on the topic of NCAA v. University of Miami…Which Institution Has Lost Institutional Control?

Alan Fertel to Speak at St. Thomas University’s Entertainment and Sports Law Symposium
Boyd & Jenerette Partner and Sports & Enterainment Practice Group Leader, Alan Fertel will be speaking at the 2013 Entertainment and Sports Law Symposium on Saturday, March 9th at St. Thomas University School of Law.
The Symposium will include panels on Intellectual Property, NCAA Compliance and Immigration. Mr. Fertel will be speaking on the NCAA compliance panel sharing his expertise on compliance regulations and various NCAA violations.
Alan Fertel Speaks on Steroids in Sports Panel ‘Winning at All Costs’
Boyd & Jenerette Partner, Alan Fertel spoke alongside Miami Marlins President, David Samson on a panel entitled "Winning at All Costs" January 17th, 2013 at Marlin Park in Miami, Florida.
The panel speakers discussed the dangers vs. the benefits of steroids, should they be allowed in professional sports and whether or not steroid users be allowed in the Hall of Fame.
Mr. Fertel serves as the Practice Group Leader for our Sports and Entertainment Law group and frequently lectures at sports and entertainment law seminars throughout Florida, the United States and Latin America on various legal and ethical issues.
Mr. Fertel has been recognized as one of South Florida’s top lawyers by the South Florida Legal Guide since 2003. Boyd & Jenerette Partner Alan K. Fertel, will speak on a panel discussion titled, “Lance Armstrong: Fraud or Philanthropist?” at the 24th Annual North American Entertainment, Sports, and Intellectual Property Law Conference in Cancun, Mexico on November 7-11.
Mr. Fertel is Head of the Firm's Sports & Entertainment Practice Group and has over 20 years of experience frequently speaking at sports and entertainment law seminars throughout Florida, the United States and Latin America. He is sought after to speak to law school, college and high school students and student athletes on various legal and ethical issues.
During Fertel’s 28 years of experience he has tried more than 100 jury and non-jury trials in which he has represented a broad spectrum of clients. He has consulted with eight first round draft picks in the NFL draft and has been featured on the NFL League Security Video filmed by NFL Films, shown to every NFL player as counsel on how to avoid problems and pitfalls of being a celebrity professional athlete. He has negotiated broadcast agreements with the Florida Marlins, Miami Dolphins, the Florida Panthers, and the University of Miami Hurricanes.

Boyd & Jenerette partner and Sports & Entertainment Law expert Alan Fertel was a panelist at The Third Annual International Legal Symposium on the World of Music, Film, Television and Sports held by The American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries May 2, 2012.
